Is “re-perkify” a real word?

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.

To which we replied:

Dear Reader:

No.

Even worse, it’s a non-word derived from a non-word.

Which means it’s dangerous. Please call a Haz-Mat team and have it hauled away.

“Perkification” MIGHT be considered a word, had we conquered Perkistan (not a real country) and were trying to leave. But “perkify” is not a word, and, therefore “re-perkify” is even less so.

Google lists Results of “about 474 for perkify.”

This does NOT mean it’s a word. But if enough idjits use it, it will become one. Witness “proactive” and the use of “read” as a noun-verb (or an “action-thing”) as in “it’s a good read.”

When I make up words, it’s at least funny. Like “buffrontery” which, obviously, means to be insulted by a buffoon. Or, simply, listening to three hours of Limbaugh.

Bests,

Dick Tracy, Library Cop

Courage.
