I’ve tussled over this one ethically, and while I believe that the parties who were trying to evict Thomas M. Disch from his rent-controlled apartment, using the very tragedy of Disch’s partner’s (Charles Naylor’s) death as the pretext, I can’t quite bring myself to “out” them.
So, I’ve hit on a crackerjack notion that throws out the baby and keeps the bathwater.
If you click on this real estate blog HERE (scroll down to February 19, 2008 “What’s the Disch on Estates”), you will be given the URL for the New York State Courts Report on Thomas Disch’s legal case HERE. On it you will find three names.
*, * and * Petitioners-Landlords-Appellants,
against
Thomas Disch and Charles Naylor, Respondents-Tenants-Respondents.
When you Google those three names, *, * and *, you will note that they are unique enough that the probabilities of it being ANOTHER group with those three names becomes astronomical. When you dig through the references, you will see that it’s the same three, over and over again, with one article even tying several of the threads together.
You will find a “wine bar” in the meat packing section of New York.
You will find references to the two girls as semi-famous “twins.”
You will find them on the David Letterman Show Top Ten of a few years back. And singing backup for a famous ’80s rock and roll band in its current incarnation.
You will find their father dying in 2003, a Princeton graduate, a year before Charles Naylor died in 2004.
But you will find who killed Thomas M. Disch. Not me.
Instead, here is my second novel in its entirety:
CHRISTINA’S CRAVING by “Blakely St. James” — a 32 megabyte .pdf (Portable Document Format) file with searchable text (Oh, yeah, it’s NSFW. Seriously. Naughty people doing naughty things. Very ’70s.)

Christina’s Craving complete.pdf (click to go to download page)
To understand HOW I became Blakely St. James, read: “Christina’s Outing” (30 Oct 2007)
Now, I’m off to see a Wizard. Wish me luck.
Oh, and a slightly early Happy Bastille Day! Liberté! Egalité! Fraternité! Maternité! Eternité! Concernité! etcé.
Courage.
