Not much to say today. Tonight, September 8, I noted that the story I broke back on August 31, “God Swill,” (featured in Crooks and Liars blog roundup on September 5th) and Sarah Palin’s Assembly of God Church in Wasilla, Alaska, with “speaking in tongues” was the number one story on Keith Olbermann’s Countdown, and the inaugural episode of Rachel Maddow’s new show on MSNBC which played and premiered, respectively, tonight. (Here’s the writeup on The News Hole, Olbermann’s “official” blog.)

The most prominent story, however, was, understandably, Olbermann’s exclusive interview today with Barack Obama.
The “speaking in tongues”/Holy Roller story has legs, it seems.
But there’s a writer out there who kicked MY investigative ass, named Bruce Wilson, who wrote an AMAZING piece on the Huffington Post, “Sarah Palin’s Churches and The Third Wave: New Video Documentary.” (Tip of the hat to displaced neohippie, who sent this to me from September 7.) Wilson deserves kudos and probably gyros, pita bread and grape leaves, to boot.
Wilson does a load of original research — including interviews with church muckymucks — and really puts together a solid report. And here’s his impressive author photo:

It’s a great piece of reporting, and notes that Palin’s church is a tad heretical to Assembly of God practices in that new movement called “the Third Wave.” It’s a cultural phenomenon you need to know about. MUST reading.
Now, I’ve just driven 279.2 miles today and I’m very tired.
(And, of course, Happy Birthday to The Redhead.)
Courage.
