Seriously, I barely even had to make an effort. I’m sure there are more egregious examples, but charges of hypocrisy only sting when the hypocrite has either a) a conscience or b) a soul.

And that “civility” is a term useful to them only a a means of masking another stream of invective, epithets, slurs and feces-tossing, and not because any of them have ever evinced the slightest evidence of comprehension as to what “civility” actually might be. It’s just another name to call.
Predictably, the usual ”civil” Eloi will undoubtedly jump on the “Bill Maher, you’re so MEAN” bandwagon without ever once calling out the Poor Sheppards of the Reicht.
Maher will ignore all of the above, as usual.
Because, while there is undoubtedly a joke somewhere in the notion that the most foul-mouthed, hateful and physically ugly creeps and hired poison-pen thugs (Poor and Sheppard get paid to do this crap) in American history continue their corrosive destruction of all civility, polity, compromise and the fundamental tolerance that democracy/republic requires, there seems nobody left who would get that joke.
