The Road Ahead

It actually takes longer to scan and tweak, format, etc. than it does to write a complete column.

But I didn’t feel like writing today. So …

Colorado winter

doherty slide, oregon outback

downtown tonopah, nevada

mojave desert

nevada desert highway

nevada mines

nevada mist

out of the oregon outback

outskirts of tonopah

nevada moon

snowplow in Austin, Nevada

petrified forest arizona

picturesque surprise valley

Mudras

Musaic*

* Now,  I know what you’re thinking: Aren’t there NINE muses?

Yes. You’re absolutely right. But in this case, three muses had prior commitments, two were indisposed, and one just didn’t want to be in the picture.

Calliope, I think.

Courage.

The three muses you picked were just fine and I need to know the highway on which they appeared as I may be traveling that direction soon and would like to make their acquaintance too!

  2. In Mar 2009 we as Indians have exercised our right to rule our own selves in the most populous democracy of the world. We, the people of India, We have reason to feel elated about this exercise being conducted in a country with a population of 1.15 billion people, representing 17% of the world’s population. We feel elated because we have been successful in holding on to democracy in such a culturally, linguistically and genetically diverse geographical entity for more than 61 years. We feel elated because we have been successful so far to remain united against periodic onslaughts from divisive forces, by holding on to the ideology of democracy. This means that as a polity we have been able to hold on to power for 61 long years. And over these years we have only gained in strength as a free democratic nation.
