BREAKING NEWS: The GOP is bothered by … BIAS?

She’s fainted! Thank goodness we have a couch designed for it!

Another day, another case of the vapors.

Jim Vandehei and Mike Allen/Politico:
To GOP, blatant bias in vetting  —  On the front page of its Sunday edition, the New York Times gave a big spread to Ann Romney spending lots of time and tons of money on an exotic genre of horse-riding.  The clear implication: The Romneys are silly rich, move in rarefied and exotic circles, and are perhaps a tad shady.

Only days earlier, news surfaced that author David Maraniss had unearthed new details about Barack Obama’s prolific, college-age dope-smoking for his new book, “Barack Obama: The Story” — and the Times made it a brief on A15….

You know, as sensitive as these bastards are about the slightest perception of not getting the fairest of shakes, you wonder how long they could take one day of equal and opposite slander, bizarro-world racism (see “Elizabeth Warren”), hate, lies, distortions and utter abnegation of fundamental IDENTITY (see “birtherism”) without collapsing into a mountain of tissues filled with their sniffling, mewling, whining and whimpering. And then, how long before the sheer weight of those used tissues would squash them flatter than a creep crepe.

This is what comes of living in an
old GOP house with the skeleton of
your mother …

Listen to the next two short paragraphs in this asinine tale:

No wonder Republicans are livid with the early coverage of the 2012 general election campaign. To them, reporters are scaring up stories to undermine the introduction of Mitt Romney to the general election audience – and once again downplaying ones that could hurt the president.

“The New York Times has given Obama the longest wet kiss in political history, and they have done him a favor again,” former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said. “The New York Times does a huge expose that Ann Romney rides horses. Well, so does my wife, and a few million other people. Watch out for equine performers!”

Well, if that sounds like what comes out of the south end of a north-bound horse, you aren’t alone.

The coveted GOP truthiness award

But it is at the TOP of Memeorandum, as have been EACH AND EVERY MONOMANIA, DELUSION and SUBTERFUGE of the GOP id over the past week. A nonsensical nonstory attacking another media outlet, seemingly at the behest of the unseen GOP masters. (And NOW look at the mysteriously seemingly-coordinated NEW top story.)

This is blatant media manipulation, and blatant Politico political fellation.

But I guess that’s not “bias,” right?

Because, as Republicans constantly remind us on Limbaugh, Hanutty, Beck and Faux Nooz™ et al, bias is BAAAAAAD. (IOKIYAR)

BTW: Did you catch the “Obama smokes dope” slander offered up in the second paragraph (along with the byline so you’ll know where to send your hate mail) by  Politico’s GOP catamites? (I guess they’re being “fair and balanced.”)

In a pig’s eye.

Good ghod, people: when the phony claim of bias is used to JUSTIFY bias, and the phony claim of slander is used to ENABLE slander, and nobody says a damned thing, you have to grieve for the future of our formerly great nation. The dominoes of history are falling faster than the IQs of Politico‘s stooges (these two, not ALL Politico reporters, some of whom actually TRY to be journalists and NOT the equivalent of TMV tabloid trash reporters).

Here’s the concluding slander, er, HARD NOSED UNBIASED POLITICAL REPORTING:

from my 2010 post of the same title

[Haley] Barbour sounded more bemused than irritated about the stories, contending that Americans “are going to vote on real issues – the economy, jobs, the record of the incumbent.”

“Obama can’t run on his record, so Democrats will attack Romney’s character: ‘Romney is not like us.’ ‘Romney is a bad person.’ ‘Romney doesn’t care about people like you.’ ‘Romney’s a venture capitalist.’ ‘Romney is a hair-cutter.’ ‘He’s married to a horse rider.’”

Oh yeah. THAT’S credible — if you’re either a believer in projection, else just figure that they left the “in” off of “credible.”

Hunker down. It’s going to be a bloody civil war.

Courage.
