Lawyers Have Already Drafted 13,000 Pages of Regulations for New ObamaTax Law
Posted by Jim Hoft on Thursday, July 5, 2012, 12:37 AMIt’s a lawyer’s dream!
Officials have already drafted 13,000 pages of new regulations for the new ObamaTax law.
FOX News reported* [ hvs note: "reported" ought to be in quotes, of course]:With the Supreme Court giving President Obama’s new health care law a green light, federal and state officials are turning to implementation of the law — a lengthy and massive undertaking still in its early stages, but already costing money and expanding the government.
The Health and Human Services Department “was given a billion dollars implementation money,” Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana said. “That money is gone already on additional bureaucrats and IT programs, computerization for the implementation.”
“Oh boy,” Stan Dorn of the Urban Institute said. “HHS has a huge amount of work to do and the states do, too. There will be new health insurance marketplaces in every state in the country, places you can go online, compare health plans.”
The IRS, Health and Human Services and many other agencies will now write thousands of pages of regulations — an effort well under way:
“There’s already 13,000 pages of regulations, and they’re not even done yet,” Rehberg said.
“It’s a delegation of extensive authority from Congress to the Department of Health and Human Services and a lot of boards and commissions and bureaus throughout the bureaucracy,” Matt Spalding of the Heritage Foundation said. “We counted about 180 or so.”…
OMG! Because democracy doesn’t work when boards and commissions sit, and anything longer than three pages to deal with the massive kleptocracy of the health insurance and medical reimbursement industry has GOT to be evil, right?
Because what we NEED is hardly any regulations and unaccountable bureaucrats without oversight to make a system work that they firmly believe is communist, Stalinist, Marxist redistribution of the collective need for health care in an act of astonishing fascism.
Yeah.

What do you mean “health care for Americans”? First it’s medical
treatment and then it’s Death Kamps for Konservatives!!!!
Read your own health insurance policy lately? I don’t know about you, but three separate insurers my family has had over the past decade annually send a book of 200 pages, plus, written in fine print legalese, explaining (invariably) how it is that whatever health issue that we have isn’t covered or can be overturned for our failing to dot an “i” or cross a “t.” (And that’s for ‘regulating’ ONE person’s health care. I wonder how many pages that would be for 315 milli0n Americans?)
But I guess that’s more important than all those pages of regulations covering one fifth of the US Economy.

There. Athletes foot all better now.
After all, if it isn’t in the Bible, it’s not worth knowing, right?
Oh, and SCREW the poor and the sick. (It MUST be in there, right?)
Some friendly advice: if you’re going to make a prima facie argument that goes no deeper, try not to make it in terms that clearly brand you as an unprincipled imbecile. (You’re welcome.)
The slow secession continues, as the blogosmearic traitors lead the PAC.
Courage.

They are getting very frightened, more and more mainstream republicans are beginning to find out that they like a lot of what’s in it, and that’s driving them nuts.
The problem is, Bill, that when you read the Southern Civil War “Faux Nooz” papers, this is exactly what THEY did, and how they got the stomped-down Middle Class to die for their slaves, just as the Faux Nooz crowd is going to die for the Donald Trumps and their right to get rich from slave laborers offshore.
We are SO screwed.
Great points, Hart. Nice to see a non-conservative in the blogosphere. What I can’t figure out is why we are all hanging on the words of a rep from Montana. I guess if Fox News quotes you, then you must be God.
I became a registered Democrat in 1988 to fight the Republicans.
I left the Democratic Party in November 2004 to fight the Republicans.
And the Democratic Party has consistently insisted on fighting itself whether I was registered as such or not.
And Fox News actually did quote me, but as the Devil, frightening poor fraidy-cat Ted Nugent.
