Democrats watch in awe as McConnell filibusters himself
Eric W. Dolan / The Raw StorySenate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) introduced legislation to raise the debt ceiling on Thursday, apparently with the intent of showing that even Democrats would not support such a bill.
However, McConnell’s plan backfired after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) called for a vote on the legislation, which would have given the president the authority to raise the federal debt ceiling on his own. The top Senate Republican was forced to filibuster his own bill….
A thoughtful observer would undoubtedly note that the once-coined courtesy of unlimited debate in the Senate has morphed into a monstrous tactical mechanism of obstruction that was never intended by the founders, the framers or any Senate of the 20th Century and earlier. And that McConnell just got hoist by his own petard.
But finding a thoughtful observer in the food fight of American rhetoric?
Good luck with that.

Wow. For once, McConnell has the Democrats right where they want him. Well played.
The reject of a mutant ninja turtle deserves to be a laughing stock. He and the Orange Hued One need to be put in nursing homes where they cannot hurt this country again.
