Ah, but the NYT remains at least 48 hours behind my reporting:

Hey, I provided the confirmation of who turned the documents over to Wikileaks. The New York Times is cordially invited to check my original reporting to find out what else they might have missed.

UPDATE: Turns out I was right about the altered documents as well.
