Trump plays tic tac toe; Putin plays chess; US ‘exceptionalism’ plays dead

Trump Withdraws U.S. From ‘One-Sided’ Iran Nuclear Deal
Mark Landler / New York Times

WASHINGTON — President Trump declared on Tuesday that he was pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal, unraveling the signature foreign policy achievement of his predecessor, Barack Obama, and isolating the United States among its Western allies.

Hate to say “I told you so,” but I did. Yesterday.

Here’s the short take:

First, it destroys US credibility globally. Second, it isolates us from our European AND UN allies. Third, it continues the wrecking ball to the US’ role as an honest broker in any Mideast peace. Fourth, it empowers Putin’s new “great game” in the Middle East. Fifth, it kills any North Korean deal.

Trump and his latest national security adviser, evidently.

We don’t keep our word. We don’t keep promises we’ve guaranteed under international law. The USA is now a rogue state. Thanks doofus.

See yesterday’s “Why Trump Will Pull Out of the Iran Deal“:

… as we have seen, what Putin wants, Trump provides.

Now I need to go throw up.

My country ’tis of thee; sweet land of larceny.”
