Least Surprising Crime in History, Alleged

In perhaps the least surprising scandal in human history,

House investigating whether Trump lied to Mueller
Katelyn Polantz / CNN

Washington (CNN) The House of Representatives is now investigating whether President Donald Trump lied to special counsel Robert Mueller in written answers he provided in the Russia investigation, the House’s general counsel said in federal court Monday….

Donald J. (as in “Judas”) Trump lied to the Mueller investigators, under oath?

  1. Whoa!!

You can hardly use the fact that the written response to Mueller’s questions signed by Trump contained lies, to accuse the president of lying.

He’s functionally illiterate. He didn’t read the damned lying document, much less write it. He’s incapable of either.

Nor can you accuse the lawyers who wrote the letter for him of lying. They had to rely on what Trump told them in preparing the replies to Mueller’s questions. Trump goes beyond being an unreliable narrator. He’s something we haven’t seen even in works of fiction, the incoherent narrator, because, boy, would that novel be an unholy and unreadable mess. Those lawyers had to write something. They had no help at all from their chief fact witness to what Trump had said and done, Trump, in navigating the border between fact and fiction, so of course it’s perfectly innocent for them to have strayed over the line into fiction quite a bit.
